5 Reasons Why eLearners Feel Grateful for Your Content


As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving in the United States this week, it offers the perfect opportunity to reflect on why your eLearners are grateful for the learning content you create.  Organizations and learners enjoy many benefits from eLearning – such as ease of delivery, scalability, flexibility, and trackability. In addition to those easy-to-see benefits, I believe there are (at least) five additional reasons why eLearners are grateful for your content.

Reason 1: eLearning helps learners become proficient
Whether it’s learning a new task at work, or understanding content for a class, the true purpose of eLearning is to help learners become more proficient at something. That proficiency can help improve their overall well-being, their happiness at work, and it can even improve their earning power.

Reason 2: eLearning provides information learners can always use
An eLearner may complete your course and never look at it again. But thanks to what they learn via your eLearning content, the knowledge and skills will remain with them forever

Reason 3: eLearning engages learners
Thankfully eLeanring design includes an emphasis and awareness of the art – and importance – of engaging learners. Rather than silently listening to a lecture or passively observing a demonstration, when they complete an eLearning course, learners are involved and engaged in the act of learning.

Reason 4: eLearning develops self-confidence
Without knowledge or skills, it’s daunting for people to undertake new tasks or develop in their career. Engaging and useful eLearning content helps learners build their self-confidence and take on new challenges.

Reason 5: eLearning enables knowledge through emotional connection
Cutout characters, interactions, voiceover, video, and scenarios are ways that learners emotionally connect with eLearning content. Rather than just reading words on a page, or clicking through screen after screen of mind-numbing content, eLearning enables knowledge by using emotion. eLearners are thankful for that deeper emotional experience which helps them remember the content and inspires
their success.
